work extension after I-130 approval in family based GC

Hi
I was born in India, acquired Canadian citizenship a couple of years ago and now want to move to the USA and settle down finally. What I want to know is while working on a work permit in USA, if my brother a US citizen applies for family based GC, can I extend my work permit based on the application? I have 15+ years of experience and have B. Tech. from India. Will I be eligible for EB2?
