Help with I-864 & Employment
Hello everyone,
I just got married to my long term partner who is a US Citizen and we are starting the green car process and I have a few questions that some of you might be able to help me with.
I was on a H2-B visa which expired a few weeks before we got married. I continued working after it expired as my wife is currently unemployed and looking for a job and we have bills to pay. I know that USCIS forgive up to 180 days of unauthorised employment but was wondering if I should state that I am currently working on all of the forms? Obviously honestly is the best policy with USCIS but will this affect the application at any point?
My other question is with form I-864. My wife is currently on unemployment and has an income because of that. If we file everything and then she gets a job, should we file a new I-864 as her income would be significantly higher if she gets one of the positions she has been interviewing for? Or would it make more sense to just wait another few weeks before we file anything to see if she gets the job?
