Hello,
I am an US Citizen and I got married in Dec 2014. I work and live in NY. My wife works and lives in FL. She is currently on H1b visa.
I would like to sponsor GC for her. Should I use NY or FL address as the primary address in the application forms? We filed 2014 federal taxes jointly with my NY address and state taxes individually (married separate) with our NY and FL addresses respectively as suggested by our CPA.
As of now we only have joint bank account and we don't have bills/receipts together yet. Would you recommend getting some bills on both names?
I would like to use FL address on the GC application forms as she rent an apartment by herself where as I rent a room in a house in NY. So its easy for her to add me on her lease in FL. But I am not sure if this is the recommended method.
I visit her every other week in weekends. She also visits NY sometimes based on both of our works schedules. I am planning to change my HR home address from NY to FL.
I would appreciate your guidance.
Thank you,
Pavan
