  • is there different way to submit the I-864 form

    Hi:
My beneficiary(my brother) who sent request to NVC and asked change the processing to “electronic processing”. NVC sent email back and told him he is now enrolled that “electronic processing” and gave him another GZO# (she already had the GUZ#)
That email also says from that point on, need to do every form electronically. My understanding is that includes I-864 form and supporting documents from me (petitioner). I don’t feel safe to do that at all since there are so many security problems in the news recently. Is there any other way to submit the form and supporting document without doing it electronically? Can I still send them via regular mail to the address of NVC use old GUZ#, or will they give you a choice for electronically or regular mail when you pay the fee online?

if not, can we switch back to the regular way by sending email again to NVC?
Really appreciated it if someone can help me
    Thank you!

The GZO case number requires scanning of both sponsorship and civil documents. My advice is to "bite the bullet" and try your best to meet the stipulated filing requirements. Apparently you had the choice of going with scanning or paperfile and chose the former, now you want to back up and revoke your choice. You can try to contact NVC by phone or email and see if they will allow you to change back to GUZ

Thank you so much Ray! really helpful and I think I will take that "bite the bullet". one more question

In order to use I-864 EZ form, need meet three conditions. one of them is "there is only one applicant on the Form I-130 petition". I applied my brother more than ten years ago and he has a daughter (was 16 year old that time) so when you file the I-130, the info abut his daughter is there too.
      1. Is that qualify for "there is only one applicant on the Form I-130 petition" so I can use I-864 EZ form?
      2. Is the policy now allow the daughter (29~30 years old, married now) come with the father together?

Thank you again and you are so nice!

The daughter has aged out and is not eligible for a derivative visa now. You can use th I-864EZ, for you are the only sponsor, and your brother is the only applicant.

this is great forum and great people. Ray let me ask one more question
the I-864 EZ just requires most recent tax transcript as support doc. In my tax return it has my spouse and children's SSNs on it so I guess when I get transcript, those social security number will show up too correct? is there anyway just show up my SSN only since it needs to be transmitted to them electronically and security is a concern. (or is that OK to cover/mask them?)

          Have a nice weekend Ray!

            Alison,

I would advise against masking anything on your tax return or tax transcript.
