I am a 17 year old H4 visa holder here in the U.S. My father is here on an H1B visa. His employer has already applied for our green cards based on his employment (H1B to green card). I am also part of this and am in the process of getting a green card through my father's employer. Can I apply for affirmative asylum even though I have a green card application being professed? Will applying for asylum contradict my current green card process in any way? Would highly appreciate any advice, thanks.
