I just received a letter from nvc saying "UNFORTUNATELY, A VISA NUMBER IS UNAVAILABLE AND THIS PETITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FURTHER PROCESSING AT THIS TIME. THE REASON FOR THIS DELAY IS THAT THERE ARE MORE APPLICANTS FOR VISAS THAN THERE ARE IMMIGRANT VISA NUMBERS AVAILABLE UNDER THE LIMITATION PRESCRIBED BY LAW. FOR SOME VISA CATEGORIES, THIS DELAY COULD BE MANY YEARS.
THIS PETITION WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A VISA NUMBER AND FURTHER PROCESSING ONCE YOUR PRIORITY DATE IS EARLIER THAT THE CUT-OFF DATE LISTED IN THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE VISA BULLETIN.
COUNTRY OF CHARGEABILITY - IRELAND
VISA CATEGORY - F4 BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF US CITIZENS
PRIORITY DATE - 29SEP2010
After checking the bulletin and seeing this:
The cut-off date for your selection is:
15MAY02
Could someone please tell me what this means as I am slightly confused. Does this mean I have to wait 8 or so years ?
