Which is better - to petition for parents green card from USA or India?

Dear Friends,

If anyone has experience with applying green card for parents from USA, I would highly appreciate any help.

I am US citizen of Indian descent and I am applying for green card for my parents. My parents are currently in India but are visiting me in USA at end of the month in April. When I went to USCIS I got an application packet for I130 petition along with I485 adjustment of status and was told that I can apply in the USA. However recently I was also told that I should do the I130 petiion while my parents are in India and do consular processing (wait for I130 to be processed in India?). Also I heard that if you do green card application in USA it would go against the visitor visa rules. How can one apply for green card from USA then? Which option is better to do from USA or India? How long does it take for advance parole travel document to arrive once the I130 petition is made for my parents to be able to travel back to India?

To my knowledge people on visitor visa can't adjust status. You must file I-130 now and send to USCIS office. Once its approved you will go through NVC process. Which includes few visa fees and affidavit of support.
