  • F4 visa administrative processing regarding phd thesis

    Hey immihelp,
My priority date recently became current and i gave my F4 visa interview on 1st april, 2015. We were a total of 8 people. me, my mom and dad. My cousin and his mom and dad and another cousin and her mom. Everybody except me and my mom and dad were granted f4 visa. During interview, we were let go in the shortest period of time. The interviewer only asked a few questions. She asked mom and dad
about professions and then qualifications, she asked who is calling you there and then she asked what will i become when i complete my education. Then she said me and my mom's visa was approved but they needed to ask my dad a few more questions. Then they called my dad and handed him a pamphlet asking for his 1) resume 2)10 year travel history and 3)phd thesis summary. He has a phd in organic chemistry. We needed to email it to an address they provided. After emailing, they confirmed reciept. I went to ceac.state.gov, entered my case no. and found out that my dad's case shows AP and my mom and my own case still shows ready for interview. Me and my mom's case was last updated on 6th april and dad's on 9th. How much of a wait can i expect ? Is there a question of me not getting a visa or my mom or dad ? Do i need to be worried ? I'm 15 years old and i am using this website with both my parent's permission if that matters. Please give me some info fellas. Also, i gave interview at the new delhi embassy and my dad's thesis is not on any dangerous topic, just some generic research.

Me and my family's visas got issued !!! Finally

Although no one replied to what i asked i think this is a very helpful website in general so i think i ought to elaborate on what happened. So, On around 8th of april, we checked our visa application status on ceac.state.gov and although my dad was in AP, me and mom were still at the ready stage even though we had given our interviews. We emailed them and they asked for the letters issued during the appointment. Dad emailed them the letter asking us to pay The greencard fees (yellow coloured handout), dad's 221(g) letter ( Asking for resume, phd thesis and 10 year travel history). They did not reply but on 17th of april we were asked to collect our passports. We were happy that this finally pulled through and we went on monday, next week as the VAC was shut down on saturdays and sundays.. We went there and to our shock and surprise, we got only our passports, no visa and a 221(g) letter asking for me and mom's Police clearance certificate. We were frustrated as we had already submitted them during our interview but hey , what could the lady who handed em' to us do ? so, anyways i waited there with a relative and dad went back to my home, got the docs and submitted em' the same day. And voila !! all of our cases go into AP. And on 23 april, our visas get issued ! I can't describe what a relief it was. And today,(25 april) around 3:00 pm we get an email asking us to collect our passports. We live an hour away from the VAC so we couldn't have made it in time to get there even if we tried. So, We're gonna go by monday to get our passports and visas. Will put in a concise timeline in a bit of time.
