  • Filing I-130 with I-485, but differently spelled first name on marriage certificate!

I am currently an F-1 student and got married to a USC. I am filing I-485, I-765 and I-130 together. I have run into the following issue:

My wife spelled her first name wrongly on the marriage certificate while getting the marriage license. Actually you get the option to change the name at the time of getting marriage license and she wanted to change the spellings of her first name, but she mistakenly put the same new spellings on her "current first name" field on the marriage license as well. She is currently listed on my life-insurance policy, credit cards, bills etc using new spellings of her first name, but her passport, birth certificate, bank statements and tax returns etc all has her older/original first name. Our marriage certificate shows that she changed her name to her newly spelled first name and she adopted my last name, but on the marriage certificate, her "current first name" is now spelled wrong.

If I send this marriage certificate along with my I-130/I-485 application, will it get rejected? Should I attach an affidavit from my wife saying that both differently spelled first names are of one and same person. If I go to get the first name corrected on marriage certificate, we may have to go thru court and it could be longer procedure. My current work permit is ending soon so I want to send my application file as soon as possible. In such situation, what is the best advice on tackling the different-spellings-of-first-name issue?
