  • Green Card Through Marriage

I got married March 23, 2015 and I am currently going through the process of assembling my concurrent I-485 and I-130 packet.

I decided to do the paper work by myself and my husbands help of course. I wanted to save us about $900, because that's what the paralegal was trying to charge us.
So I went to to do some research about the whole thing and pretty much found out everything I needed.

This is checklist of what my package includes...
    Contents include:
    1. Check in the amount of US $ 420.00 for form I-130
    2. Check in the amount of US $ 1070.00 for I-485
    3. Form G1145 E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance
    4. I-130 Petition for Alien Relative
    • Copy of Petitioners Birth Certificate with translation
    • Copy of Petitioners( US Citizen) passport (all pages)
    • Copy of Petitioners (US Citizen) Social Security and California Drivers License
    • Copy of Beneficiary’s (Alien Spouse) passport (ID page, entry stamp) B-1/B-2 Visa, I-194)
    • Copy of Marriage Certificate
    • G325A Signed by US Citizen
    • G325A Signed by Beneficiary
    • Passport photo of US Citizen( Inside a plastic bag and stapled to G325A)
    • Passport photo of Beneficiary (Inside a plastic bag and stapled to G325A)
    • Evidence of Bona fide Marriage
 Affidavits of Bona Fide Marriage
 Copy of the Marriage Certificate
     Miscellaneous photos and stubs
     Civil Ceremony Photos

    5. I-485 Application To Register Permanent Residence Or Adjust Status
    • Copy of Birth Certificate with translation
    • Copy of Beneficiary’s Passport( ID page, entry stamp, B1-B2 Visa, I-194)
    • Form I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (Completed by a Civil Surgeon sealed in envelope)
    • G325A signed by beneficiary
    • 2 Passport photos of Beneficiary (Inside a plastic bag and attached to form G325A)
    • Form I-864 Affidavit of Support
    • Petitioners (US Citizen) Passport (Biographical Page)
    • IRS tax return transcripts from 2011-2013
    • DD214 Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps

    6. I-765 Application For Employment Document
    • 2 Passport photos of Beneficiary (Inside a plastic bag and attached to form I-765)
    • Copy of Beneficiary’s passport (ID page, entry stamp, B1-B2 visa, I-94)
    7. I-131 Application For Travel Document
    • 2 Passport photos of beneficiary (Inside a plastic bag and attached to for I-130)
    • Copy of Beneficiary’s passport page (ID page, entry stamp, B1-B2 visa, I-94)

So I think, this is it.

Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    THANK YOU.

PS. I am very OCD about organizing. Would if it a bad idea if I have a couple post its explaining where the things are and maybe helping them distinguish the Petitioners and Beneficiary's etc.

looks good to me. me and my husband are going through the same procedure right now..

    my list is similar.

one thing you can add it explanation to show circumstances that warrant issuance of an Advance Parole Document. i believe its not mandatory but some people add it.

i will be also adding pay stubs for affidavit and 1099(w2) as a proof of employment, but we also have a joined sponsor so its double paperwork

what is "Form G1145 E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance " ? how did you get it?

I noticed your list doesn't have anything collaborating/binding the marriage, eg bills also tax transcripts. It's important for your interview, but you may get a RFE.

Did you see the section ¨• Evidence of Bona fide Marriage
 Affidavits of Bona Fide Marriage
 Copy of the Marriage Certificate
           Miscellaneous photos and stubs
           Civil Ceremony Photos ¨

Do you think, I need more evidence?

i noticed some people do add tax transcripts, especially if they file taxes jointly... Mary probably also mean house bills if you pay they together as well..

just so i understand correctly : this is the form you fill out and add to your case?

or you need to submit it separately?

you just add it to your case, at the beginning right before your form.

                  I-797C Received

                  Hi
My wife filed I-130 petition for me. She is green card holder. I received I-797C NOA 1. My service center is California service center and my case number starts from WAC-1234567890.
I check my status online by USCIS online service in march when i received my I-797C NOA 1. After that i have been checking my status again since 15 days and online system shows that " USCIS can not provide information about your case this time". Please let me know when that type of massage usually shows?
doesn't my case exist an y more in USCIS system. My wife didn't submit G-1145 E -Notification of Application/ Petition. Please let me know how my wife can register her Email address to receive future correspondence with USCIS .
                  Kind Regards
