    Hello,

My mother have applied for me an i-130 form. Its been 2 years now and the only thing that we have received is a receipt for that application.
how long we have to wait? She's still a permanent resident, she's applying for her naturalization next year.
She applied in Philadelphia, doesn't anybody knows how long is the process time there?

If you are an unmarried adult child, then the Visa Bulletin Board, indicates, they're currently at September 2008. You said 2 years, so you have at least 5 years more to wait, before your case becomes current. Once, your mother becomes a US Citizen, you can have her up-date the case, by sending a copy of your receipt letter and her Naturalization Citizenship Certificate, for your case to be upgraded. Are you in the USA, or are you in your country? The processing will be different as you may aware.

And thank you for your reply, nothing is being approved yet. the only thing that we received is the receipt letter that said that we are in process.

I been married for 5 yrs to an american citizen born and raised in usa, I came in usa 6 yrsa ago with a B1/B2 visa, we never adjust my status last year i had to travel back home to romania for a family emergency and when i return back to usa with my B1/B2 visa they sent me back home bc i overstayed 5 yrs...i wish some would've instruct us before i left to romania to apply for my papers the I-130 form but contacting USCIS and actually find a real person to talk to it's impossible . well they end up sending me back home saying "oh don't worry just go back home and have your husband apply for your papers, u are married for 5 yrs things should work fast in like 3 months u will be back" really?? that's so far from the truth after been treated like **** by customs and been kept for 9 h without the possibility of seen my husband for at least few min..they refused to let me see him i arrived back in romania with a envelope filled with papers that they messed up for me!! helpful!! where?? My husband and I hired a lawyer to represent our case and we just received our receipt number...what i'm upset about it is this long waiting process we called uscis and they told us last week that they just changed the laws and now the waiting time is a year to a year and half for an answer!! are u serious?? how we the married ppl can stay mentally healthy my husband is a mess for months now and we miss each other so bad ..they dont make easy this immigration laws for ppl...i wish were ways to have this done faster.

              Nasta87,
If you get married before your case is completed, your case will automatically, become null and void. Remember, your case is listed as- "Unmarried son/daughter of a USA Resident". So you see if you get married, you are no longer under that status or any status for that matter. Be careful and patient.
