I think I posted this wrong the first time...
I am getting ready to apply for a spouse visa so that my husband may come join me here in the US. I am a natural born US citizen and he is from New Zealand. I am just wondering if someone can give me an idea of about how long it will take the process, from start to finish, before he will be able to enter into the United States on the IR1/CR1 spouse visa? The least of my concerns right now is a green card, we're married amd we aren't even in the same country. All I'm really looking for is the fastest way for him to get up here, if a K3 visa is faster, then great.
ALSO we had applied for a visitor visa, but because he has a previous conviction (no time served) he was denied, and I'm wondering what the chances are of him being denied for a spouse visa (if any). When we had gone for his interview in NZ, the interviewer said that if we were married, he wouldn't be denied (ture or flase?).
If anyone can give me any information on how long it will take and/or the fastest way to go, plus info on denials based on criminal records it would be great. (I have read all the information on the USCIS web page and on the travel.state.gov sites, but it's still just not enough) I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
