  • NVC questions!

    Hello All

I applied for an immigrant visa for my Dutch husband in March 2014. About 6 months later we received approval and moved onto dealing with the NVC. We have paid all the fees, filled in the DS-260 online and sent in all the supporting documents in February 2015. We received the email stating they got our documents and to wait at least 60 days. Around 30 days later, we got an email that they were missing information on the Affidavit of Support of our Joint sponsor (my father). We realized that the total income on his income taxes was not matching his individual income since he had jointly filed with my mother. We therefore filled in an I-864A for my mother (was this actually the right thing to do??). We received on April 10, 2015 an email confirming they received our documents and expect to wait 60 days (again). We are so anxious (as you can imagine!) to get this all said and done with. I am currently fearing that we are going to wait 60 days only to hear that we need to send in supporting information. We had sent the Affidavit of Support and all accompanying tax information before 2014 taxes were due/completed, and therefore did not include this information. I called and ask if they wanted me to send the 2014 info now that it has been completed and she said that they may decide in the review I just need to bring that information with me to the interview, or they may decide I need to send it to the NVC (therefore restarting the 60 days...ahhhh). Anyone been through anything similar lately and can enlighten me on this process a little bit? We are in uncharted waters and I feel so lost! Any help, guidance, or anecdotes would be great. Or tips!

    Thanks for reading....
