After the application (I-130), is submitted within a matter of two to three weeks, you will get your Receipt Notice and other Notices, giving information about your case, and its status.

After that, the real waiting begins. Approximately, 12 + years
When the priority date becomes, current, you will receive Notice of Instructionn, of what to do and the status of your case.
