I am currently in process of filing Green-Card through USC spouse (marriage based). Also, I am currently employed full-time with Global company on H1-B visa. Considering, current business of company in North America region - there is possibility of major layoffs. I am already looking for jobs in my area before I could lay off.
Once Green Card is filed concurrently (I-130 / I-485 / I-131 / I-765) when beneficiary is legally in-status & petition is received by USCIS and provides case number, case status will be I-130 & I-485 pending and if visa expires candidate will be considered "in-status" due to pending I-485 unless petition is denied.
For some reason, if I am suppose to lose my job -
1. If I lose my job (lose H1b status), what will be my current status?
2. If I lose job, will I have to wait for EAD card before I start working on new job or can I work at new job on pending I-485/ I-765 petition?
