But US. citizens can petition siblings, married or not. Waiting period for eligible visa slots is 12-23 years, depending on country of applicant.

On the other hand Permanent Resident, can petition for unmarried children, regardless of their age. The wait is pretty long, for those who are 21 years of age and over.

. please can you tell me which one will be faster ? if US CITIZEN parent file married son or us citizens file for married sublings? because i am US citizen from india. my mom will be citizen in dec 2015. do i have to wait for her to be citizen or i can file petition for my married sister now. i want to know which one is faster. please help me out. thanks

US Citizen filing for her children any age, is shorter in years, than siblings filing for siblings.

For India, siblings are running about 18 months faster than married children 21 or older.

Yes, you can petition a married sibling. Waiting period for visa eligibility is between 12 and 23 years, depending on country of applicant.
