Hi all,
I’d like to thank everybody who will be taking the time to read this and wish to receive great advice and a direction as far as available opportunities for me. I’ll try to be as detailed as possible but yet keep it reasonably short.
I arrived to the United States of America in 1997 at the age of 9 with my entire family. Since then, I’ve lost communications with my father but my mother has received her green card through marriage last year and my brother is getting his green card through his marriage next year. I’m currently residing off of a bi-annually renewal of I-765 (Work Authorization) and have no passport of my own. The challenge is that my case is closed and I was on order of deportation without my knowledge back in 2008.
The deportation is now taken care of and currently I am under Order of Supervision. The reason behind the deportation was failure to appear to court on our assigned date, which myself, my mother and brother were not aware as my father failed to report this to us at the time, back in late 2007.
Now that a little about my case is clear, my case is closed and have been attempting to re-opening it since 2008. I have approval for I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) but will be denied when I proceed forward with applying for further documentation on behalf of receiving my green card and eventually my US Citizenship. My lawyer has advised that the only option, with the current laws, would be marriage to a US Citizen. I have no plans on being married anytime soon so this will be much longer than I’d hope for it to be.
I’m in a safe status and am eligible for renewal of my I-765 until the time of marriage or granting citizenship to childhood arrival bill. But, I have a passion and vision of becoming a Law Enforcement officer and cannot proceed with this passion without my US Citizenship. Therefore, I’d like to seek all options available for consideration to possibly re-opening my immigration case to pursue my US Citizenship with the current immigration laws available.
I hope to gain more knowledge and obtain great feedback from everybody. If I missed anything here, please feel free to ask and I’ll answer your questions.
Thank you again!
