Hi,
I need help as I am an American citizen but have been living out of the country since 2006 and would like to move back with my soon to be Irish husband.
From what I gather I need to file an I-130 form, however up until now I have not been aware that I needed to file taxes while living abroad as I was only 16 when I left the states so I never actually had to file taxes while I was there? Also, as we are currently residing in Australia (for me the last 3 years and before that Ireland for 5-6) I have no income in America as a proof for sponsorship?
Would it be easier if the both of us go and apply for the visa a point of entry? I find it very hard to get help for the US government abroad.
