  • I am Petitioning my parents for Green Card. Do I need to attend the interview?

My parents have been called for interview. It says that if this is a marriage based green, then the petitioner needs to attend the interview.

Since I am petitioning my parents and not a spouse, does this mean I do not have to attend? Any info from someone who petitioned their parents would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's important that you attend, the interview.

Hi. Is this a consular processing overseas or here within the States? Well, my mom's interview is on August 12 in Europe. I'm in the USA. I was trying to schedule an appointment for her while I'm at home, so I can accompany her. The consular scheduler informed me that they cannot reschedule her date and I wouldn't be able to accompany her anyway as it is not a requirement. I hope this helps.

Yes, if she's oversees there's NO need for you to attend.
