  • My wife is my sponsor -- should I include a job offer with i-130/i-485??

    Hi guys,

    New here.

My wife is my sponsor but hasn't filed taxes so we have a joint sponsor to cover the minimum poverty requirements. In the meantime, I've been offered a $65K/year job (which is way over the poverty minimum) once my EAD comes through.

Should I include the job offer in the application as an appendix? Will it help? Does it matter?

    Thanks,

    Henry

You will need to have proof of Sponsor to cover your poverty guidelines, before, you receive any Benefits from USCIS.
You mentioning, you tentative job, is of no use to them.
    Good luck!!

Even though your wife have filed taxes she must give explanation and reason why she didn't for the years she hasn't

Hi! THANK YOU for your response. Yes, I have a letter that states why she hasn't. I also have proof of sponsor from a friend who makes well above the poverty line. I just wanted to know whether to include it so they can see that a) I have a sponsor, b) I have a job offer on the table as soon as EAD comes in.

If I include it, will it hurt my application, along with all the other things that I have that I'm supposed to?

Thanks again for your input, so appreciated!

Never give information, that's not asked. They don't penalise anyone, if they don't have a job, so you saying you have a up-coming job, wouldn't impress them or make you get anything faster. Just saying. Good luck!!
