  • I-864 got rejected twice

    Hi,

I had applied GC for my parents and sent I-864 and I-864A (filled my wife), but it is keep getting rejected and they are saying that income is not properly specified.
We always filed tax return jointly. I also sent them tax return for last 3 years and W2 as supporting documents.
Ist time, I specified total adjusted gross income from tax return on both i-864 and i-864a and got rejected
2nd time, I specified my total income from Box-1 of W2 on I-864 and again got rejected.

Now they told us not to send form again and bring them during interview so we have last change to specify correct numbers, How to fill this section i.e. what number should we specify in section 19 a,b,c

    Thanks

I 864 has parts, the letter should specify which part. I m thinking you are referring to Part 6, number 2--On this section, you would write your CURRENT income, The current income is NOT the income you reported on 2014 Taxes. Get a employment verification letter from year 2015, from your employer who will state the CURRENT income on it. The current income is NOT tax deducted. Same goes for I 864A.

Thanks, actually I am referring to section 6, and 19 a,b,c where we need to specify federal income.

For section 6, you would write your CURRENT income, which is not tax deducted (so get an income verification letter from your employer) to support that.

For 19 a, 2014 tax returned income, 19b, 2013 tax returned income and 19c, 2012 tax returned income.
