Marriage Certificate not available

Hi,

I want to sponsor my father for a green card. However, my mother has passed away and I am unable to get a marriage certificate or the fact that one does not exist. How should I proceed?

Is he your step father? If so are there no place of records where you can apply for a new one? If he's your biological father, then you would need only his birth certificate and your birth certificate.
