  • Two Petitions

I'm currently an international student in college and will be working in the US after graduation, which therefore may lead to my way of becoming a US citizen in the far future. My uncle, my dad's brother, is a US citizen. Our family want to find a fastest/safest way of helping my parents obtain permanent residency in the US. I may need approximately ten years to become a US citizen myself through employment, then ten years later I'll be able to file petition for my parents as immediate relative. An alternative is to have my uncle file a sibling petition right now, but the waiting line for sibling-sponsored-immigration is also over ten years.

My question is that if I should have my uncle filing a petition for my parents now. If so, can I file for my parents again ten years later if my petition will be processed faster as an immediate relative and ultimately gets my parents green card faster. Would having two petitions, one from siblings and the other from children, in the course of ten years, have any effect on the chance of approval?
