  • Son born after Wife's I-130 is approved. What to do

I am a US greencard holder. My wife is an Indian living in India. I am temporarily residing in India as well. My wife's I-130 got approved and after that we had a baby. She recently received her NVC welcome letter. What should I do about my son now? Should I file a separate I-130 for him or can I add his info in the I-864 I am filing for my wife? Please help.

We have the same issue. We moved to Canada and had our daughter after the I-130 approval. I called them up after receiving the welcome letter. They advised me to send them an email in the following format. The email should be sent by the main beneficiary of this case (your wife) to [email protected] . She will also have to attach the scanned copies of your daughter's birth certificate and biodata page of her (your daughter's) passport to the email. NVC takes minimum 45 days to update the case after receiving the email. We have sent the email on 25th August and still waiting to hear from them.

    The format of the email:
Subject line - your wife's NVC case number

In the email she will need to start by mentioning the following information:

    Name of Beneficiary:
Date of Birth of Beneficiary :
    Name of Petitioner:
    NVC Case No. :

Then she will need to identify herself, means, she'll need to let them know who's writing the email. For example : I, (your wife's name), the beneficiary of the NVC case number **** **........and then mention why she is writing the email.

    Good luck!!
