  • Applying for green card for wife of 10 years.

I am a u.s. Citizen. I want to apply for a green card for my wife. We have been married for ten years. The wedding was in the u.s. We both live in Taiwan. We have two children together, and both are dual citizen of the u.s and Taiwan.

We sent all the documents for the i130 to my parents to send on. But now we are concerned that if we do submit the documents before she travels to the u.s. It will be risky.

You shouldfile at your local USCIS office in Taiwan. Processing is very fast when you apply at the local USCIS office in the country where you live outside usa.

Thanks for replying, but they stopped that service two years ago. They say it has to be sent to the Chicago lockbox. I think that is what we will do. Any idea on time? Really appreciate your time.

        hey

my husband and i are married for 3 years. We got married in the netherlands and we were living here in the netherlands but for many reasons we want to go to the us. he put in the i130 petition in in feb 2015 after he got a house and a job in the us. and the 6th of october we could see online that the petition has been approved so that is already 8 months. now we are waiting for the letter of the NVC so we can start that process but from what ive read so far that can also take up till 90 days provided we sail right through the process.

Also good to know maybe is that you do need to have a home in the US and that you need to meet 125% of the state poverty income.

good luck in what ever you decide

You had to send more than just the I-130. You also had to send (2) G-325A one for the petitioner & the other for the beneficiary.

          Also the supporting documents
Petitioner / Beneficiary's Birth Certificate (Needs to be translated & notarized if not in english)
Marriage Certificate (Needs to be translated & notarized if not in english)
Divorce Certificate (if the petitioner or beneficiary have been divorced in the past & needs to be translated & notarized if not in english)

Now when you say when she travels to the U.S. are you saying that she has a VISA??
