Marriage to (future) permanent resident - before or after coming to US?

Dear all,

I am currently in the process for getting an immigrant visa (it should be approved within the following month) and gc, based on a sibling who is a US citizen.

I want to get married to my fiancee and I'm not sure would it be better to do that before I go to US, or is it better if we get married there (he can come to US based on tourist visa)?

I read that waiting time for the spouse of permanent resident is 3-5 years, while if we marry before I go to US I could petition follow-to-join procedure, and this procedure should not last that long. Could someone please advise me on this? Any info would be very helpful!

If it's an F4 case then you should get married before the visa processing starts, and then both can have the visa at the same time. You'll have to send your marriage certificate and his passport copies to include him in the petition after receiving the welcome letter. F4 visa is for siblings of US citizen and it doesn't matter if the sibling is married or not.
