Hi
We are planning to apply for GC for my parents. They are here in US on B1 visa for 6 months.
They came in June. Now that we were going over the paper work we saw that my fathers passport has a spelling mistake on his birthplace. Can we get it corrected here? or is there anyother way..
We hve tried contacting counsulate but no response..

Any feedback is appreciated.

Try the Indian Consulate

Hi Archana - Maybe going to the consulate in person could help. I'm also in the same boat trying to contact them over phone for obtaining a birth certificate for my mom based on her passport.

I wouldn't worry about a misspelled place of birth so much. If his name or date of birth was misspelled than yes I would worry. Just make sure when you fill out any of the forms that you put the correct place of birth.
