Hi everyone,
I am currently applying for a green card through marriage. In form I-485, documents of eligibility are required, and they mention "petition approval notice". I, the petitioner, am currently on F1 OPT visa (grace period). Is it ok to include the I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status) signed by the school, instead of the I-797 (petition approval notice, which I might have lost)?
The I-20 couldn't have been given if the visa petition wouldn't have been approved, right? But I'm not sure how important it is to send the I-797. I tried researching online and even called the USCIS but couldn't get clear info on this. Any similar situations?
Thank you!
