Most family based Green Card Holders migrating to US after 50 years are coming there would at some point of time go back to their homeland
mostly due to inability to obtain good job, weather, health issues etc. At the same time most of such people have their siblings in the states with
good education and good jobs. The parents are then left with a choice to either remain idle or work poorly paying jobs without health insurance etc..
I am sure, given a chance they would like to go back to their homeland for long stay, if their green card status remain valid after one year or two years with reentry permit.
I have seen many such green card holders who are living in USA just because they can not retain their green card after long outside stay.
IF THE CONGRESS PASS A LAW ALLOWING LPR ABOVE 55 YEARS OLD TO STAY OUTSIDE USA FOR 5 YEARS OR MAKE THEM ELIGIBLE TO BE IN USA WHEN THEY
WISH TO REJOIN THEIR FAMILY ANY TIME..
SUCH A MOVE WILL SURELY SAVE THE GOVERNMENT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AS MOST SUCH PEOPLE DEPEND GOVT. FOR FOOD,HEALTH INSURANCE AND OTHER NEEDS...
