  • Green card vs visitor visa benefit

My mom comes on visitor visa to US every 2 year. Her visa will be expiring in early 2017 and I am debating to renew Visa or apply for green card. I know Green card will be costlier than visa renewal.
Question I have is about medical insurance: Will I be able to declare her as my dependent in medical insurance through my company? If this can be done then I don't have to spend $400-$500 on for every trip on medical insurance.
I am just trying to see if it is worth spending more money on GC if it is not buying us anything.

Also will she have any other benefit for GC against visitor visa?

    Appreciate guidance.

    Thanks,

No, you wouldn't be able to add your parent to your medical insurance through your job.
This is my opinion not legal advice.

Green card has lot of benefits apart from visa so that you (or Mom) can live in U.S. upto the green card valid

I hope it`s not possible to recover the medical insurance with you.

      Thanks
