I need to fill out the I-130 for my father-in-law to get his green card, which requires a copy of his marriage license. He's divorced, and my wife says the Chinese government took away their Marriage License and revoked it when they were divorced, and they don't have any copies of the marriage license.
Does anyone know what can we put in the I-130 in place of the Marriage License in this case? Can I ask him to write a letter declaring he was married when my wife was born, then have it officially stamped by his local police department? Or can we put in the divorce decree instead of the marriage license?
Thanks in advance!
