  • F4 processing timeline and CSPA F4 timeline

I just wanted to give little timeline here to everyone who is looking into F4 processing at NVC. I recently helped out on two f4 cases, one of that also involved CSPA

F4 case- 2 adults and 2 minor children
petition approval by the USCIS- 09/2002
    Welcome letter from NVC- 03/2015
Supporting documents and Sponsor were sent to NVC, 05/20/2015
letter from NVC- Documents received 06/01/15
NVC asked to make corrections on sponsor and police clearance- email received 07/07/15
    Documents received by NVC 08/12/15
    Case completed at NVC 08/31/15
    Appointment letter received 09/15/15
    Appointment scheduled 10/20/15
    Medical exam done 10/03/15
    Visa approved 10/20/105
    Visa arrived in mail 11/9/15
    Arrived in the USA 12/4/15

    F4 CSPA timeline
    petition approved by USCIS 09/2002
    Welcome letter from NVC- 03/2015
Supporting documents and Sponsor were sent to NVC, 05/20/2015
letter from NVC- Documents received 06/01/15
Supporting documents and Sponsor were sent to NVC--ALONG WITH CSPA REVIEW LETTER, 05/20/2015
letter from NVC- Documents received 06/01/15
CSPA candidate IV fee payment invoice received 07/31/15
NVC asked to make corrections on sponsor and police clearance of CSPA candidate- email received 08/05/15
    Documents received by NVC 08/12/15

I waited for NVC to review everything but I didn't hear anything after 30 days passed and supervisor review period passed too. So I contacted congressman's office to ask NVC for status since the other case was completed and both were on same timeline. PLEASE NOTE: Only contact the congressman's office if you absolutely need to. Government officials do not interfere with laws and order of USCIS but they do ask to keep the status updated which means your file does gets reviewed.

    Contacted Congressman: 10/20/15
Received email from NVC asking for birth certificate copy of one individual 10/29/15 (they must have lost it, I do remember sending everything to them).
    Document received by NVC 11/3/15
I waited till 12/3/15 to make any calls. I made a call to NVC on 12/4/15 but file wasn't touched so I contacted the congressman's office.

Received letter from Congressman's office with NVC response stating that file is now COMPLETE on 12/10/15. They will let us know when interview gets scheduled.

Thanks @dpatel126 ...our case is also at NVC now. The priority date is 02 July 2003. As the priority date is still not current, NVC cannot
review our case for applicability of CSPA now. They answered this after our last mail. Our supporting documents is received by my uncle(petitioner) today. He will check all the documents first then send them to NVC. But I did not find our Supporting Document Cover sheet. Is it on the NVC website? They didn't send us any email for the cover sheet. I find the AOS cover sheet. Are AOS cover sheet and Supporting cover sheet same? Need your help..Thanks

If you are sending supporting documents for the first time after paying NVC fees, then there is not coversheet. You will get a follow up email after you send the supporting docs for the coversheet.

              Visa processing time

              Hi

My priority date is 18th Jan 2010 and category is F2B i received
welcome letter received from NVC on 28th July 2015
i submitted immigration fee to the NVC on 22nd Aug 2015
Submit documents and my sponsor documents to the NVC on 10th Dec 2015
Received acknowledgement from NVC of receiving documents on 12th Dec 2015.

When my mother spnosored me she was permanent resident of US but when i received welcome letter she is US citizen so by law my category should be changed from F2B to F1. My attorney sent my mother's US passport copy and my Immigration case No to NVC to change the category. please let me know how long now it will take now for interview date and then visa. I shall be very much thankful to you.

Thanks @dpatel. We send our documents. Our priority date is 02 July 2003. It will be current in March DOS bulletin. If all the documents are correct and case will completed within 1/2 months, how much time NVC need to fix an interview for F4 category? I have completed my BSc in EEE from KUET. So I want to get admit in a US college in the fall session as a in state student. Is it possible to schedule an early interview (April/May) by requesting NVC or US embassy?

time of NVC depends on your case, how backlogged they are and what else they might need on your case but generally they do finish things within a year. NO, you can't request an early interview so that you can enroll in college. You can start college here in January semester too.

Need help with F4 and CSPA

                    I need expert advise.

I have files immigrant visa petition for my brother in F4 category with priority date of Dec 2003. My brother recently got notification and now chose "choice of agent" online. My brother's son was about 12 years and now is aged out as he is about 24 years. As per CSPA age calculator, son is eligible to immigrate with my brother as he is unmarried.

When I go to CEAC to pay immigrant visa fees, I see invoice for my brother and sister-in-law (only 2 people) but not kids (nephew / nieces). In other words, there is no option to pay fees for my nephew. My brother wants to come to USA only for my nephew, otherwise there is no point for him to come as he is well-set in India. As per CSPA (https://www.uscis.govhttps://www.imm...us-protection-
act-cspa), my nephew has to file DS-230 (DS-230 paper or now DS-260 online) in order to "seek to acquire" permanent residence.. However, I can not file DS-260 without paying my brother and sister-in-law's fees. And I am worried that once I pay fees for only parents, my nephew may never get a chance.. This is like catch-22 situation. I can't move forward because there is a chance my nephew may get dropped in process. I have to pay fees and move forward otherwise I can't file DS-230.

I called USCIS and asked about same. The officer told me that it is upto consular officer to decide if my nephew is allowed or not.. I tried to explain catch-22 situation but I did not get satisfactory or clear answer.

Has anyone experience similar situation recently? Any thoughts?

You both should qualify for CSPA, if unmarried. Please call NVC and ask them for CSPA evaluation on both of you or send them a written letter so that they can send you an IV fee invoice for you and your sister. Good Luck
