I am currently a US Citizen. My mom lived with me and my bother (greencard holder) for the past 6 years on visitor's visa. She would come every year, stay for six months, extend her visitor visa for another six moths, return to India for couple of months and then return again. This past return, the immigration officials deported her and denied her request to enter United States on Visitor Visa claiming that she had been living unlawfully for the past six years - spending more time in US than India. Mind you, USCIS granted her visitor's visa during each of her previous visits and we have extended her stays all the previous times
I recently acquired US Citizenship and have applied for my mom's greencard. My question is does the deportation proceedings have any effect on her application for greencard.
