I am a GC holder and I applied for my wife, who lives in India. The I-130 is approved and the PD is April 2015.
Due to the recent changes in Immigration Law, there are currently two sections which is "Final Action Dates" and "Dates of Filing." The "Final Action Date" is currently Aug14 (for India) and the "Date of Filing" is Jun15 (for India) which means that I'd be eligible to file. I haven't received any communication yet from the NVC apart from a letter long ago stating that I'll have to wait for my PD to become current.
I understand how this works for people that are already in the US but wanted to know what are the implications of this new rule for people outside US (consular processing)? Will my wife be able to file the documents, attend interview and everything now and then just wait for the "Final Action Date" to become current?
