USC wanting to bring mom into US. Green Card Expired

Hello,

I would greatly appreciate your guidance here.

I am a US citizen and am trying to get my mom into US. Mom and Dad were here on GC in 1999. They left in 2000. Dad passed away. Mom stayed in Pakistan due to medical being too expensive here. Her GC expired in 2010. I would like to bring her here as I believe I can afford her medical insurance now.

The options I see here are:

1) Request USCIS to re-instate her old GC. Will they entertain this request?
2) Apply again for her GC. How long before she is eligible to come here?

The only option you have now is to file her GC again. It will take any where from a year to one and half year for the whole process to complete.
