  • Green card for my ex-girlfriend and mother of my US Citizen child

    Hello,

I am a US citizen and my ex-girlfriend is not. She is here on a L1 visa.

We had a baby, also a US citizen and live near each other in Boston.

Is their any process, in the interest of keeping the family together; for her to qualify for a greencard? Right now her visa is tied to her work and she is planning to quit.

You are not 'family' unless you get married. Having a USC child is of no use, the concept of 'anchor babies' is wrong. After you get married, you can sponsor her for a green card.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

What ever person before me quoted is absolutely right. USCIS don't recognize domestic relationship / past relationship.
If she quits current job, she gets out of status & will have to leave country. I'd recommend consulting with lawyer.
