  • Re: Family based petition Green card/ F4

    Hello All
I am hoping someone can advise as i am unable to find the info online
Our application is now in the advanced stages and an interview date is imminent in our local US embassy office/ London for a family based ' Green Card'
If approved, can someone advise what sort of Green Card we are issued with ? e.g. is it a conditional 2 year or 10 year.... i am particularly interested as i need to know how long we are given by the US Immigration to settle fully in the US once the Green card has been approved for me and my family
    thank you

If it is F4 category you receive a green card with a 10 year expiration date, after 10 years you can renew your green card or after 5 years you can apply for US citizenship.

Thanks for the reply and clarification...can you just advise how lone we have after approval to actually set up and mve to the US? is there a time limit etc..I am just a little concerned that if after approval, we take a few years to sort things out here in the UK before moving to the US, that they may then take away our right
      thanks again

You immigration VISA will have an expiration date, you must arrive to the US prior to that date, that is usually within 6 months. BUT if you medical exam is done earlier, it is within 6 months after your medical exam date.
