  • I-864 Application based on U.S. Citizen spouse

    Hello,

    In form I-864:

    1) Part 2. 1c. Middle Name.

I don't have a middle name, so do I just leave it blank or do I need to put a "N/A"?

    2) Part 2. Mailing address. 2a. In care of Name.

That is my address (principal immigrant) in this section. So, do I write my name again in 2a. or leave it blank or put "N/A"?

    3) Part 3. Information about the immigrants you are sponsoring. Family Member.

My spouse (U.S. Citizen) is sponsoring for just myself and no one else. So, do I put "N/A" in this section or leave it blank?

    4) Part 4. Information about the Sponsor.

I and my spouse live at two different states because of job. My spouse will move with me next year. We have a joint lease at my current address. So, what should be my spouse's mailing address and physical address?

    5) Part 5. Number 8.
Is the Household size = 2, if it is only my spouse (sponsor) and me (immigrant)?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

    1.
If you do not have a middle name then put N/A. My wife does not have a middle name either.

    2.
You put your first and last name where it says "in care of".

    3.
I am confused as to why you are filing out an I-864...
That is for your wife (the sponsor). You are not the sponsor, so I do not see why you are filing an I-864. Is there something I am missing?

    4.
Your wife will put her physical and mailing address in that section. She will enter wherever she lives NOW. Again, you should not be doing this form.

    5.
She would put her household size as 2, even though you do not live together.
