green card trouble

HI,

I just had a question regarding the green card process. I paid my USCIS fee online mid March this year after our interview call before leaving on 4th April to come here. It has already been 40 days since i arrived here and i read the other questions posted by other users. My question being is there any way at all to track when i will receive the plastic green card and approximately how many days does it take to obtain one. I have plans to resume my studies in Canada by September but i really need to have the green card to travel there. Another question is if i call the helpline do they tell me when i might receive the card or where the processing has reached or do they just give vague answers.
