When does the SSN Card arrive?

If on the original application i had ticked yes to the SSN question i.e. so it should come automatically- can you advise how long after the Green Card petition has been approved will the card arrive OR will the first trip to the US have to be made before they would send out the card

Yes

Once you are eligible for a SSN you would have to go to the SS office to apply for a number. It isnt automatic from filing an adjustment if thats what your thinking. So yes, you would have to come to the US first with the documentation that you were approved for a green card or an EAD.
