Hello all.
My partner and I got married in the UK, I am due to return to the US very soon so we can proceed with the CR1 process. I entered the UK on a marriage visa.
We have some concerns regarding the medical.. My husband has multiple atypical moles, he has been referred to the Royal marsden (specialist cancer center) on several occasions. He has NEVER been diagnosed with skin cancer, only investigated for it!
They removed one on his neck and it revealed moderately atypical cells. (The pathology specifically stated that these cells were NOT MALIGNANT) The lesion itself was very pigmented and there was some irritation around the mole which turned out to be acne(according to the pathology report). They could not be sure on just visual inspection hence the reason for excision.
All his other atypical moles have not changed, and while some of them are over 6mm and some oddly shaped, the specialists at the royal marsden do not consider these to be a problem after being inspected under their special scope. He has recently had a full body examination and they have given him the all clear. None warrant any reason for excision at this time and have not changed in years. He checks his moles regularly and he is very good out in the sun by covering up with UV filtered clothing and SPF 50.
We meet the income requirement, he can take a letter from his hospital stating his moles are deemed to be OKAY to the medical, but we are concerned that the consulate will deem him a likely public charge (because apparently atypical moles carry an increased risk of melanoma) I am unsure if any health insurer in the US would be willing to cover him because of his atypical moles.
If anyone can advise on how we proceed or if anyone has been in a similar situation.... it would be much appreciated
