  • Filing I-485 for spouse who is in US

    Hello,

I got my green card recently. Three months before my I-485 was approved, I got married. My wife is in US and she is on OPT and has a job as well as me. Now, I was wondering what would be the steps to apply for her green card. Do I need to get a lawyer because we recently got married (less than 2 years)? Is it a difficult case to file or I can find the routine easily? What documents are needed for this application? I would greatly appreciate any hints on this. Thanks

how did u obtain the green card? was it through marriage? since u only have a green card every US citizen has priority over u. so it will take 5-7 years for her to get approve.

I got my green card through NIW EB-2 and I wasnt to apply for my wife now. Actually, I got married three months before my green card (I-485) was approved. The attorney has already told me that I do not fall in the long term category for getting a green card for my wife as we got married before I received my green card.
