How long parents need to stay in US AFTER getting green card - PLS ADVICE !!

I am planning to apply for my parents green card and whiile i know that they should not stay out side the US more than 5 months, how much time do they need to spend in US ? USCIS says majority of the time. As soon as parents get their green card, can they travel to india for 4 months or they should stay in US maximum time ? Can they stay 2 months go to india for 4 months and again come back for 2 months ?

I understand not the most ideal situation however they are NOT willing to stay for more than 2 months so i am wondering if its even worth applying for them. Last thing I would want is their status revoked cause they have not been living here.

Then why would you apply in the first place if they have no intention of living in the US?
GC means Permanent Resident, emphasis on Permanent.

u shouldn't really have sponsor them if their intention is not to live in the US. they can go and come as much as they like, but if u not plan in them getting a citizenship. if so, they have to stay in the US for 5 years. they cannot be outside of US for more than 2 weeks, i believe.

Green card just gives u travel and work privialage
