I have a pending application for the marriage based immigration to the U.S.. We found a joint sponsor when we filed the case on September 2015 and we submitted the sponsor's 2014 tax return. Now we have our interview next week and we are supposed to bring the most recent tax return (2015) of the joint sponsor. However, he didn't have enough income and asset (due to self-employed) on last year to achieve the I-864 requirement. Does it really matter? If it would be a trouble, can his last three years tax return help? Now my husband (petitioner) has sufficient income which has been reflect on the 2015 tax return. Can we bring the new petitioner's I-864 with all his current documents?
