  • Dependent VISA for spouse of a Green Card Holder

Hi , Please help me with the details for the below question.

My Wife is a green card holder. She is currently outside of US, but plans to go back and settle there.

    1) She plans to apply for GC for me once she settles there, Can i go on any dependent VISA for a GC holder?
    2) How can i get eligibility to work in US till my green card petition is done?
    3) Can i travel to US on my petition and get work permit on the petition basis?

    Thank you

      1. There is no such thing as a dependent VISA. Your wife can file an I-130 for you, and it will be about 2 years before you can get an immigration visa.

      2. You can not work until you get a green card. That's 2 years after your wife starts the process.

      3. No. Your wife filing an I-130 for you does not give you anything. You have to wait 2 years in your country for your interview for an immigrant visa.
