  • Interview approved, now what?

My grandfather (87 years old) from Australia recently attended and received an approval after his interview. Now, we will await the return of his passport with the new visa and something about a "sealed packet," right?

My question is: what do we do now? Is it okay to start buying plane tickets and when he arrives at the destination airport, will he be allowed entry with that visa? I was reading something on the US Customs and Border Protection about how he could still be denied entry. This would be horrible. What documents/paperwork do we need to provide to make sure that he can be granted entry into the US?

I'm in the exact same boat as your Grandfather. I have my Visa in hand, and will cross the border next week Tuesday.

All I can say is, don't buy a ticket until he has his passport and Visa in his hands, and has confirmed the accuracy of spelling, expiry date, etc.

I too am fearful of the CBP turning me away. But, there's nothing we can do but have faith that it'll all work out.

It won't be long now! Congratulations!
