  • I-864 Question, please help!

I just mailed the I-130 to USCIS for my mom.

I guess once my I-130 is approved, the NVC will request I-864?!

My question is that for the past 4 or 5 years, I was in school working on my BA in criminal justice. I finished my BA in Dec., 2015. I have been working for a police department for the past 6 months, and my starting salary is almost $40,000/yr.

For the past 5 years I filed tax return because I had a student loan & obviously, I didn't have much income while I was in school.

Now I am a BA degree holder, working for a police agency, and my income is over the poverty guideline. I also bought a house this year. Would I need a co-sponsor do you think?

    Thank you so much!!!

If you have six months of income at the level you describe below, and can get a good employment verification, you should not need a co-sponsor.
