  • Aplied AOS (485) for Wife - Now I am a US Citizen - How to Upgrade F2A to IR?

    Case Background:

I applied for my wife based on the new changes made by USCIS OCT 2015 (Filing date separated from Processing date) for F2A.

She was eligible so I applied for her AOG (485) and we got the EAD and AP approved.

Today I went to the US Citizenship interview and passed and will hv the Oath Ceremony in a week or so - when I will get the Naturalization Certificate.

    Questions:
    1) How do I upgrade my wife's application?
    From F2A -- Approved 130 / Pending 485 - F2A Category --- to IR (Immediate Relative)

Incidentally, Oct 2016 Visa bulletin (released today) says her priority date Dec 2014 is CURRENT. This means her case will be processed soon.
    2) With her cases being current in the F2A category - should i upgrade by law?

In case if F2A or IR is immaterial for this case - then -
    3) Which is going to be fastest to get teh green card processed - F2A or IR (based on the fact that F2A is current for her PD, and IR is always current)

    Thanks in advance
