Does anyone know how long i have to wait to get married after i get my Permanent Residence Card (Green Card)?
I just got my Permanent Residence Card with my family. I want to get marry to a person outside of USA. I have heard from few people that need to wait for one year after you get Green Card. Is that true? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am confuse currently and can not make my future decision. I tried to search online but did not found any website can state about this rule.

The processing time depends on a variety of factors. However, based on the procsssing time most recently reported by the Nebraska Service Center (USCIS has 5 processing centers total) they are currently processing files received on March 2nd 2016. This means they are now STARTING to process applications they received on this date. As you can see thay are running a bit behind by a bit over 6 months. Then comes the wait for the application to process. That can take 3 - 6 months. If I were you, I would factor in 1.5 years from the date USCIS receives the application.

Now anything can change at any time, meaning USCIS can fall further behind in processing the application or perhaps speed up the processing. I have seen both happen.

In the end, all anyone, including myself, can give you is an educated guess. I realize you are trying to make an extremely important decision in your life. Please understand that I simply given you my best guess. It is strictly my personal opinion.
