Hi everyone,
I am a US citizen sponsoring my parents from Vietnam through consular processing. Everything went smoothly until the interview at the consulate. Since my dad is affiliated to the Vietnamese communist party, he was denied the visa and asked to submit additional docs explaining the reason for joining, level of involvement, and proof of release from the party.
Have anyone gone through something like this and can you advise on what should be addressed in the letter to the consular officer? I think it would be extremely helpful if anyone can share whether or not they faced an absolute negative sentiment when communist membership is involved in the process.
Thanks a bunch!
